And as the self-guide list goes on, I see myself yawning.

Ok seriously, more than half on the list of book titles above, I made up. (Trying not think of how creative I am, how I can actually write books with the above titles, and people would buy it! £$£$£$)

You know my teacher once described books as ‘The soul of great minds’, I also see them as looking at the world through another person’s eyes.

Looking at the world though another person’s mind could either expand my perception of reality or ultimately lead me to not having a mind of my own any more and worse, stuck with another person’s pair of eyes!! (Faints)

Proverbs 4:23(NIV) Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it (God knew what He was talking about)

They tell us to be careful as to what we watch, what we listen to, who we hang around, but what about what we read? Like what we read and pick up through the gateway of our mind which is our eyes?

Personally, I am getting a bit wary of picking up a newspaper, because 90% of things I see there are either something related to death, murder, kidnap or just something that has no positive relevance to mankind.
Let me not go far away from the reason why I mentioned the book titles above.

There is so much information out there; a lot of people have voices and are not afraid to use it. For some it might be because they have figured out how to live life and have generously decided to show us the way around the mysteries.
These authors have found themselves and discovered what works for them, but for one still on the path of self-discovering, an attempt to understand ourselves through another person’s eyes is just a distorted personality in the making. We are so much in love with short cuts, that smart people have seen the problem and provided the solution.

Having read a lot of self-guides especially in the specialist area of maximising potential or self-discovery and have nothing against them because my books would one day be on book shelves selling out every second ;) but the principles, guide, steps, popping out on various aspects of life is getting a bit overwhelming. There might be certain principles that are same across border, For e.g. If you want to be rich, get up from the bed but there are certain situations where it might work for you and might not be the same step for me. When we read books is it to be motivated, entertained, refreshed or to look for a short cut?

What are the TWO SIGNS on what type not to read?
1) How can I tell you what to read, when I do not know what you like to read?
2)  This was just a teaser J

All I am trying to say is life could be as simple as Love your neighbour as yourself. Husband love your wife. Wife submit to your husband. Honour your father and mother so that your days can be long. Know your creator and everything you are looking for come naturally to you. Love holds no record of wrong.  Love is no self-seeking. Love is patient. A man diligent in his works, will stand before Kings and not mean men.  Do not despise the day of small beginnings.

Have you ever wondered how someone with no kids can write a book on how to raise kids? Or someone with no business writing a step to step guide on how to be a stand out entrepreneur?
I have wondered.

Books are great! They are powerful weapons, hence take caveat when picking up one.
